Minimalist grunge tour poster for Ukrainian emo-rock band Apatia's "proshu ne povertaisya" tour. Featuring hand-drawn typography, paint textures, and accent colors.
Designing the poster for the "proshu ne povertaisya" tour by the Ukrainian emo-rock band Apatia required a delicate balance between strict minimalism and emotional expression. The task was to create an informative poster with clear accents for readability, while preserving the "dirty," grunge vibe characteristic of emo music.
Poster Design
To perfectly execute this task, I built the composition on a monochrome black-and-white base. The only color intervention was the neat red dots next to the city names—they served as an eye magnet, instantly drawing attention to key information. Since the band's music is overflowing with raw emotion, I abandoned perfectly clean digital fonts. I drew all the headlines by hand using real paint, which gave the text a careless, torn texture. To enhance the expression, I delicately scattered thin lines and paint scuffs across the negative space of the poster. The result is a highly composed, stylish, and simple design that simultaneously conveys the aggressive and melancholic energy of the rock scene.
