Crushglad - Після цього ми не зможемо
Cinematic teaser for Crushglad's track "pislya tsoho my ne zmozhemo" (2025). Electronic grunge, set design, symbolism, and deep emotional storytelling.
This project for Crushglad's electronic grunge track was a deep dive into psychology and set design. The song explores the lyrical hero's reflection on their past and internal struggles. My task was to develop comprehensive creative direction that visually translated these complex emotions. This was my first time working with rented professional equipment, which allowed me to elevate the image quality and lighting to a new level.
Video Production
To perfectly synchronize the video with the musical structure, I built the edit on contrasts. During the slow guitar part, I used slow-motion to focus on the hero's melancholic movements and emphasize the duration of his internal struggle. When the drop hits, the video's pacing accelerates sharply. We shot at two locations. The first—a night clearing by the river—we set up ourselves, bringing a table, flowers (symbolizing self-love), and balloons (symbolizing childhood). We filmed from 4 to 6 AM to capture the transition from darkness to dawn, metaphorically representing the hero's self-acceptance. The cold blue-green palette of this scene contrasted with the second location—my home, where a warm color scheme showed that problems persist even in comfortable surroundings. I conveyed the effect of disorientation and mood swings through flickering lights at both locations, while integrated text reflections and ciphered artworks added final depth to the story.
Cover Design
The cover design was conceived as radical minimalism. The composition is built around black fabric, highlighted by white text ("SCHOOL MELANCHOLY CLUB") and a few minor accent details. To create a sense of underlying tension, I intentionally tilted the axis of the cover slightly. The main conceptual element was the macro-texture of the fabric itself. By heavily zooming in, I wanted to convey an important metaphor: just as complex weaves are hidden within the texture of ordinary fabric, a seemingly "unnoticeable human story" can conceal a massive and complex internal problem.
Socials & Promo
To support the release, I developed a series of promo videos in various formats, fully consistent with the cinematic and moody aesthetic of the main teaser. My key objective was not just to show a pretty picture, but to simply and clearly broadcast the raw emotions of the song. I focused on atmosphere and emotional resonance so that the content would algorithmically find the exact listener who is currently going through similar life stages and internal struggles.
