Crushglad - Нахуй тобі джаз
Animated mixed-media teaser for CRUSHGLAD's synth-pop-punk track. Grunge aesthetics, hand-drawn text, and visualization of a tragic story.
The project for CRUSHGLAD's track "Nakhuy tobi jazz" was another deep dive into the synth-pop-punk genre. Despite its energetic sound, the song carries a deep and tragic story. My main goal was to create a visual sequence that fully resonated with this emotional contrast and physically conveyed the raw, grunge sound of the music.
Video Production
In 2023, I worked on a teaser for a new CRUSHGLAD track. The challenge was to visually emphasize the grunge mood and the dramatic context of the song without relying on standard video footage. To achieve maximum emotional impact, I decided against classic shooting in favor of full mixed-media animation. Using Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro, I created a dynamic frame-by-frame collage where completely hand-written text became an integral part. This approach allowed me to accurately convey the nervous, "dirty" vibe of the track. The outcome was a highly expressive teaser that perfectly highlighted the tragedy of the lyrics and the drive of the instrumental, completely exceeding the artist's expectations.
Cover Design
The concept for the cover art was born directly from the song's lyrics, specifically the line "you draw with blood on my t-shirt." I needed to convey this harsh metaphor visually, maintaining minimalism while achieving maximum expression. I decided to design the cover on a pure white background, placing the main focus solely on the typography. Instead of digital tools, I used real red paint to hand-write the track title, mimicking the look of blood. To make the composition more dynamic, I intentionally added a large amount of paint splatters and drops. The author of the song was thrilled with this radical execution, and for me, this project became an important starting point for extensive experiments with real paint textures in graphic design.
